The fact, however, that many of these sex toys rely on the user getting and maintaining an erection is often a massive source of frustration and disappointment, especially for older folks or people with disabilities.

That’s why Hot Octopuss’s Pulse line of hands-free vibrators is so brilliant since the devices can be used on both flaccid and erect penises.

The UK-based sex tech company offers four versions of the product, two intended for solo use and two for couples’ play. The LUX version of each comes with wearable remotes.

A heartfelt thanks to Hot Octopuss for sending me a Pulse Duo Lux to try out.  After spending extensive and quite enjoyable time with the hand-free vibrator, I can vouch for it as a worthy new addition to a couple’s sexual playtime. (Note: this article contains affiliates links meaning this site may receive a small commission if you buy Hot Octopuss products.)

A new approach to penis-focused sextech

The difference between the Pulse line of “guybrator” and other sex toys for penis-havers is apparent at first glance.

Instead of being an enclosed tube a person inserts oneself into, the Pulse line of masturbators products instead encircles, or better yet, kind-of, sort-of gently clips around the shaft of the penis.

The upshot of this design is a person doesn’t need to be fully erect or even have an erection at all, to play with it.

As someone who is well into “that certain age” group and who is trying to deal with arthritis pain, I can personally attest to the brilliance of this design.

Even better, as the buzzes and oscillations of the Pulse vibrators can be felt all over, they can be used on every part of the body and even on vulvas—hence another factor that makes the Pulse Duo Lux a great couple’s sex toys.

As would be expected, however, the sensation is a little less intense in places where the main hardwre does not contact the skin.

While the core toy component remains the same among all four of the Pulse devices, the Pulse Duo Lux comes with two wrist controllers. This way a couple can simultaneously tell the vibrator what to do.

Comfortable and intuitive controls

The Pulse Duo couple's device appears next to it box and two wrist remotes.

Though the Pulse Duo Lux has built-in controls, as they are black on black, they can be hard to locate, particularly in a low-light environment.

But this an observation and not a criticism, as Hot Octopuss has thoughtfully packed both its Pulse Solo Lux and the Pulse Duo Lux with Bluetooth wearable remote controllers.

While the Solo Lux comes with one wearable remote, the Pulse Duo Lux comes with two, one allowing each person parnter to control the sexual play.

I was pleasantly surprised I was by how one, or two, of the wrist controls synched up with the device. Expecting frustration; instead, I giggled with delight that all it took was briefly holding down the on-off button on each of the wrist controllers to do the trick.

They also don’t override or replace each other’s commands to the toy, but instead, they add intensity or a vibrational pattern to the mix.

For seniors and those with disabilities, having two controls—especially ones who are easy-to-use as these—could be an exceptional contribution to their sexual activities.

Something I’m already well-acquainted with, as it gives people I play with the opportunity to step in when my hands get too painful to use effectively: replacing aggravation with pleasure.

Getting started with the Pulse Duo Lux

It’s worth noting, as with anything to do with sex, it’s best to approach the Pulse Duo Lux with an open mind and try out a broad range of ways of using it.

Lube, no-lube, gliding up and down the length of a penis, letting it sit in one place, or rotating it around, the sky should be the limit—and as you get more and more practice eventually discovering your personally-perfect way to enjoy this toy.

And if you want to partner up with someone to do this enjoying together, it’s advisable to get familiar with the Pulse Duo Lux before trying it out together.

This way, you can share what you like, what you need, to be aroused with it—instead of both of you fumbling around and getting frustrated.

Other features—and the importance of recognition

Another extra-great plus is that the Pulse Duo Lux and its controllers are waterproof. As those with periodic or chronic joint pain often are well aware, a shower or bath—hot or could—can sometimes alleviate some discomfort. Which with this fully-immersable toy can also become a satisfying sexual time as well.

With the Pulse Duo Lux and it’s matching controllers, you also get a power cord that magnetically attaches to the toy, a neat little bag for it all, and an excellently conceived instruction sheet that’s large illustrations are ideal for those of us with vision difficulties.

But the best feature isn’t built into the Pulse Duo Lux: it’s on Hot Octopuss’s site about it and the other Pulse Lux products.

Having just left 60 behind, it’s touching to find a company designing and marketing sextech for seniors and people desiring “Diverse & Accessible Sex.” Not only that, but they ever have a designated section for Trans/Queer/Non-Binary users.

A great product and a great company

I’ve so much respect for Hot Octopuss and their drive to be as inclusive as possible; it’s tempting to tell you all to rush out and pick up one of their products to show your support.

In all honesty, I can unequivocally say that about their Pulse Duo Lux. Senior or not, disabled or not, this is an excellently built and designed toy.

But if you do have snow on your roof, or you have a disability, then the Pulse Duo Lux could give you just what you need: a way to delightfully pleasure yourself, with or without a partner, and, best of all, marketed with you and your concerns in mind.

Ruby Review: Vibease’s Clit Stimulator Is a Beauty for Beginners and Foreplay https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2020/06/24/ruby-review-vibeases-clit-stimulator-is-a-beauty-for-beginners-and-foreplay/ https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2020/06/24/ruby-review-vibeases-clit-stimulator-is-a-beauty-for-beginners-and-foreplay/#respond Wed, 24 Jun 2020 00:44:30 +0000 https://sexforeverybody.com/?p=1220 “Ooooo, so pretty!”

That’s what I first thought when unboxing Ruby, the new light pink clitoral vibrator from Vibease’s Jewel Collection.

Vibease is best-known for its “smart” line of sex toys that synch to erotic audio stories. I’ve reviewed the app-connected devices, both the namesake panty vibe and the Esthesia rabbit vibrator, for Future of Sex. I was impressed with their high-quality materials and construction.

The Jewel Collection also maintains these product standards. However, the line forgoes Bluetooth tech and instead embraces elegant design and simplicity.

Gentle vibes for beginners

A lineup of Vibease's Jewel Collection, featuring the mint green vibrator "Emerald," the pink clit stimulator "Ruby," and the black penis ring "Onyx."

Vibease’s Jewel Collection consists of three devices developed for beginners: the mint green “Emerald” rabbit-ear vibe, the pink “Ruby,” and the black penis ring “Onyx.”

According to Vibease co-founder Dema Tio, the line was created with people in mind “who feel a little intimated by technology and sex tech toys.”

“We want to keep things simple while allowing users to reach new heights of sexual satisfaction.”

When the company approached me offering to send one of them in exchange for an honest review, I chose Ruby because it’s a clit stimulator I can use solo. Also, Ruby’s double-tongued tip appealed to me as it looked like it could offer precise stimulation.

As I’ve mentioned in earlier sex toy reviews, I prefer devices for “outercourse” that deliver powerful and deeply rumbly vibrations. Part of the reason why is they help soothe pelvic pain and release tight muscles rather than aggravate them.

Since Ruby is marketed as giving gentle vibrations, however, I thought it might be time to experiment with different forms of touch.

A gem on your bedside table

True to its collection’s name, the jewel-themed vibrator Ruby is a looker, with gemstone-like indents at the base.

Ruby is made of soft silicone and its folds are smooth and pliable. Overall the design is sleek and elegant; it certainly does not scream “sex toy!” It looks good on my bedside table and is far more discreet looking than other devices I’ve seen with dual-tongue tips.

A light at the bottom also flashes as Ruby vibrates in each of its seven modes.

The light feature offers some visual feedback, making it easier to find in the dark if you drop it while turned on. It’s also great for people daring enough to send erotic videos or have sexy video calls by showing the rate of vibration of your sex toy to the viewer.

Accessibility review

The ruby clitoral stimulator is show standing on its base, displaying two sideviews of the device with text and lines marking the charging point and power button.

Ruby’s non-intimidating look and gentle vibrations make it a good choice for someone new to pleasure products. For someone who is visually impaired, perhaps the light feature mentioned above is appealing.

On the other hand, finding Ruby’s power button in the dimmed light of my room without glasses on was tricky at first, even after I’d read the manual. I’m nearsighted but do need to wear glasses to comfortably read a book without any blurriness.

The power button is not as clearly marked with a symbol or texture as the charging port. This design choice is likely not right for someone with low vision or blindness who relies on touch feedback for controls.

Once I became familiar with the button’s orientation relative to the dual-tongue tip and charging port, it was easy to use in the dark.

A left hand appears wearing a gripping aid that is attached to a pink vibrator.
The Active Hands small item gripping aid holding the Ruby vibrator from Vibease.

The pressure required on the power button, which is also used to cycle through vibration modes, is also less than other sex toy controls I’ve tested. I appreciate this as someone who’s had hand weakness and pain. Ruby’s lightweight at 1.73 ounces is another selling factor.

In terms of its base, it is small measuring just under an inch wide. Ruby doesn’t provide much grip control as say a larger less elegant device such as Lovense’s wand vibrator Domi.

If you have limited or no hand mobility and want to test out a wider range of sex toys, I recommend looking into Active Hand’s small item gripping aid.

The gripping aid works well with items that have long bases and relatively consistent widths like the Ruby clit stimulator. I’ve shared a photo above of Ruby attached to the gripping aid, which was developed as a general-purpose accessibility aid by a man with a high-level spinal cord injury.

Parting thoughts

A lineup of Vibease's full product lines showing the brand's flagship panty vibe "Vibease" in purple, the black penis ring "Onyx", the mint green vibrator "Emerald", the pink clit stimulator "Ruby", and the Bluetooth rabbit vibe Esthesia in pink.
Vibease’s product lineup: Vibease, Onyx, Emerald, and Esthesia sex toys.

Ruby is a pleasure for slow and sensual moments and foreplay.

You can also use the dual-tongued tip on far more parts of the body than the clitoris. Try a nipple, the head of a penis, or even your elbow to feel spine-tingling sensations—similar to the feeling when using a scalp massager on your head is how I’d describe it.

I’ll say it again, Ruby is an attractive stimulator made out of high-quality material. The company focused on making an elegant and simple product and achieved its goal.

People with poor hand mobility or eyesight may feel overlooked in the design choices, however. They’d likely be more interested Vibease’s Bluetooth sex toys, Vibease and Esthesia, that offer more accessible controls via a smartphone app.

Moxie Review: Panty Vibe Boasts Power and Accessibility https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2020/02/04/moxie-review-panty-vibe-boasts-power-and-accessibility/ https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2020/02/04/moxie-review-panty-vibe-boasts-power-and-accessibility/#respond Tue, 04 Feb 2020 22:43:07 +0000 https://sexforeverybody.com/?p=505 (Note: This article contains affiliate links, meaning Sex for Every Body may receive a small commission if you buy a We-Vibe product.)

Last year, We-Vibe sent me its Moxie panty vibrator. I regret I didn’t write a review sooner since it’s a great wearable, both for solo and on-the-go partnered play.

The aqua vibrator is slim and curved. At its widest, it reaches 0.75 inches (~2cm) and has a length of 3.4 inches (~8.6cm). This makes Moxie a snug and comfortable fit inside your underpants when pressed up against the vulva and clitoris.

Moxie also comes with two strong magnets, one I assume is a backup. When placed on the outside of the panty, the magnet clings to the vibe on the inside — holding the sex toy just where you want it.

The aqua Moxie panty vibe lays horixontally next to its oval-shaped its magnetic clip.

Accessibility features

You can cycle through Moxie’s ten vibration patterns by pressing a button on the vibe itself for two seconds, which I personally don’t like. I have full use of my hands, though my muscles can fatigue easily.

Fortunately, the panty vibe comes with a wireless remote that made changing patterns easier. This external remote can also control vibration intensity.

What’s even better, in my view, is controlling Moxie by pairing it with the We-Connect app. The app and its touchpad remote may appeal to people with limited hand dexterity, muscle weakness, or partial paralysis.

The touchpad remote offers more control options and the app itself allows users to create and save custom patterns. In “Beat Mode,” you can also make Moxie vibrate to the rhythm of your favorite songs.

Eva Sweeney, a sex educator in her late 30s with cerebral palsy, raved about Moxie’s accessibility features on her sex toy review site, awarding it an impressive 6 out of 5 wheelchairs.

This vibrator is what I have been DIYing for years! in the past, I even taped a vibrator to my underwear just to give you an idea. Because the Moxie attaches to your underwear, you don’t have to worry about vibrating underwear being too small or too big, because it just attaches to your regular underwear!

Not just for femmes

Butch Betty is a queer sex toy reviewer who writes about sex on the autism spectrum, fat self-love, and mental health. They appreciated how Moxie’s design can work for larger bodies and non-feminine underpants.

Because panty vibes have historically been weak and attached to wispy size 0 thongs, I’d never even considered them a possibility for myself until the Moxie. Its design allows you to use it on any underwear (or a fabric strap-on harness.) This means that us fat folks and people who prefer masculine-styled undergarments can use it!

https://twitter.com/betty_butch/status/1188172209346482182

Couples’ time and long-distance play

While I tried out the We-Connect app’s features and found pairing and controlling Moxie with it simple to do, I didn’t get to explore all the device has to offer.

Moxie, is of course, also designed for couples to enjoy in close proximity and over long distances.

Grace, a 24-year-old queer femme and sex blogger who runs Princess Previews gave the Moxie panty vibe an overall rating of 86%. For use with her partner, she ranked it at 80%.

What makes Grace’s review site especially useful to readers is that she shares an impressively detailed description of her body on a dedicated page. It provides in-depth information on her sexual anatomy, including how different body parts look and respond to different sensations or acts.

While I am not able to orgasm using the Moxie while attached to my panties, due to the fact that I cannot achieve the level of pressure I require, using it like this still feels extremely good, and this is added to by the excitement and anticipation of my partner controlling it. I find it particularly excellent for foreplay, and then later when we can finally get down to business I am able to continue using it to help me achieve a clitoral orgasm during PIV sex.

Writer Nicole Guappone’s review of Moxie for Rebellious Magazine shares her experience wearing the panty vibe out while her partner took control,

The noise level of Moxie is really quiet—as it should be for discreet public play. I had fun wearing Moxie out and enjoyed my partner having full control. He turned Moxie up and down on me, on and off, randomly used the pre-programed pattern settings— just really had fun with it. (At one point, I excused myself to the restroom so we could see if the app still worked from a distance. Success!)

The power of the panty vibe

Moxie has a lot going for it. In addition to is accessibility features, a strong motor is one of its best features,

As I’ve said in earlier sex toy reviews, I love a good and strong wand vibrator that delivers powerful and rumbly vibrations. But that’s often too much intensity to start out with and it’s certainly not for everyone.

Moxie satisfies with 10 different vibration patterns that can be dialed up and down in intensity.

Hopefully, my experience with Moxie and the reviews I shared above can help you decide whether the panty vibe is right for you.

If you are searching for a wearable sex toy that you can slip into your panties and wear out on the town, Moxie seems like a great option. It’s also powerful and well-designed enough to merit its higher price tag (CA$140/US$105), that is if you’ve got the extra money to spend.

If you are not interested in the long-distance or remote control options, a less expensive bullet vibe may be all you really need.

Orion’s Vibe Pad Turns Any Chair Into a Powerful, Hands-free Sex Toy https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2019/12/15/orions-vibe-pad-turns-any-chair-into-a-powerful-hands-free-sex-toy/ https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2019/12/15/orions-vibe-pad-turns-any-chair-into-a-powerful-hands-free-sex-toy/#respond Sun, 15 Dec 2019 09:30:00 +0000 https://sexforeverybody.com/?p=617 During the adult trade fair eroFame 2019 held in Germany last October, sex tech company Orion released several new products. This included an improved version of its popular male masturbator, the Suck-O-Mat, and a new range of erotic cosmetics, called Sedory.

But the product that drew the most attention to the company’s stand was its vibrating pad sex toy, the Vibe Pad. Orion sent me the saddle-like pad device last month in exchange for an honest review.

Vipe Pad’s unique shape may appeal to users who are most comfortable sitting upright or want a hands-free sex toy. Orion describes the device as “extremely easy to use and very intuitive: it only has to be placed on a chair and can then be enjoyed sitting and without having to use the hands.”

While I am an able-bodied person who does not use a wheelchair, it strikes me that the Vibe Pad could be a more accessible version of traditional saddle sex machines, such as the Sybian or Motorbunny.

The price is exceptionally lower at 99€ ($US110). Also, a Vipe Pad user can enjoy the device’s sensations with support from a chair, perhaps without ever having to leave one’s own wheelchair, if they feel it is safe and comfortable. (If you are a wheelchair user who has tried a similar pad sex toy or sex saddle, we’d love to learn your thoughts in the comment section below or please contact us!)

After the sex toy is in place, all the user needs to do is sit over its silicone body, equipped with two “pleasure waves” intended to stimulate both the vulva and anus. Additionally, the Vibe Pad has a separate remote, which makes it a good option for people with reduced hand dexterity.

Lastly,  although Vibe Pad appears to mainly target women, the device can be enjoyed by people of all genders. For example, a penis owner may use it to stimulate the testicles and perineum.

A silicone red pad with two waves appears next to a red remote with two buttons, a battery for the remote, and a USC charger for the Vipe Pad sex toy.

Turn any chair into a powerful, yet accessible sex machine

The Vibe Pad comes in an elegant black box, that shows a nude model grinding herself against a chair seat equipped with the sex toy. The image leaves no doubts about how to use the product, so I think it’s a useful visual, not just sexy.

The toy has a window packaging, which is particularly beneficial for customers who shop in a brick-and-mortar store: they have the opportunity to see the actual size of the product before making their purchase but without the need to put their hands all over it.

Like most of the sex toys from Orion I’ve already tried, the Vibe Pad comes in sealed packaging that provides extra peace of mind. After all, who would want to use a vibrator that has already been touched by someone else?

As soon as I got the product out of its box, the first thing that caught my attention was its size. I expected it to be as small as a vibrator to wear inside your underwear, like the Vibease or the OhMiBod Club Vibe 3.OH.

Instead, with its 29 centimeters of length and 20.7 centimeters of width, the Vibe Pad is definitely bigger. Needless to say, its size fits just perfectly on all the chairs in my kitchen and living room.

Once it’s placed on a chair, the Vibe Pad looks a little like some sex machine attachments created for external stimulation, like the Motorbunny’s ones. The advantage is that, with the Vibe Pad, there’s no need to buy an expensive sex machine to enjoy the same kind of stimulation!

This way, even people who don’t have the space to keep a bulky device like the Motorbunny sex saddle in their bedroom will be able to enjoy a very similar experience. This could be the case for couples with children, youngsters who live with roommates and disabled people who share their home with a caregiver.

Not everybody wants to show off a sex machine in their living room, but the Vibe Pad is extremely easy to get off from the chair and stash out of sight.

As for the materials, I wasn’t disappointed: the saddle-like sex toy is made from velvety PU-coated silicone, like many other toys from Orion’s brands. It has no smell of plastic at all, and a small amount of water-based lube is enough to make it comfortable when in contact with such a delicate area of the female body.

The remote control takes one LR23A battery, and it’s very easy to use. It has two buttons to control the two independent motors of the toy. This means that it’s possible to control the bigger pleasure wave, designed to stimulate the vulva, separately from the smaller wave, intended for anal stimulation.

Plus, those with no problems with hand dexterity will be able to use the on/off button on the back of the Vibe Pad as well. Each of the two silicone waves offers seven powerful, rumbly vibration modes, to encourage erotic exploration and stimulate effectively the body’s pleasure spots.

The toy is waterproof, so it can turn any bathtub into a powerful pleasure tool. When its battery dies, it can be charged with the USB cable provided in the packaging. No more need to rush to the store to replace dead batteries, which may be a plus for people with reduced mobility.

Overall, the Vibe Pad delivers on its promises, with the typical quality of all products from Orion.

Amo Review: Hot Octopuss Bullet Vibe Soothes My Pelvic Pain https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2019/12/07/amo-review-hot-octopuss-bullet-vibe-soothes-my-pelvic-pain/ https://staging.sexforeverybody.com/2019/12/07/amo-review-hot-octopuss-bullet-vibe-soothes-my-pelvic-pain/#respond Sat, 07 Dec 2019 21:05:34 +0000 https://sexforeverybody.com/?p=447 Today I’m here to share my review of the Amo bullet vibe from Hot Octopuss. The UK-based sex toy company sent me the device in exchange for an honest review after I joined its sex toy reviewer program.

So thank you, Hot Octopuss, for making my first sex toy review at Sex for Every Body possible!

Here, I’ll offer my thoughts on the design and function of the Amo bullet vibrator. I plan to give an overview of why I personally enjoyed using the device and who else might like the upscale bullet vibe.

(Note: This article contains affiliate links, meaning Sex for Every Body may receive a small commission if you buy a Hot Octopuss product. )

Pain and pleasure

First, I think it’s important to share that I am a cis-gendered woman who experiences pudendal neuralgia, which is a chronic pain condition affecting the genitals, rectum, and perineum.

Part of my underlying issue stems from tight pelvic floor muscles. So naturally, I’m a fan of activities and items that can provide relief, like baths, yoga, and the tried-and-true bullet vibrator!

Since vulvar massage and masturbation encourage blood flow to the genitals, many external sex toys can help relax tight pelvic floor muscles. Personally, I’ve found this to be the case for most vibrators I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a good many! It’s also why I generally prefer sex toys for “outercourse” rather than those designed for penetration.

What I wasn’t expecting was for Amo, a bullet vibrator, to impress me so much in terms of its power and precision.

Te amo, Amo

If you’ve read my sex toy reviews at Future of Sex, you’ll know I’m a fan of strong and rumbly wand vibrators. And while Amo is not as powerful as my favorite wand, it definitely packs a strong enough motor to be a serious contender on my nightstand. It also provides the option of softer vibrations.

Costing US$49, Amo also stands out from other bullet vibrators I’ve tried, offering a choice between pinpoint and broad vibrations. One side, its silicone tip features a soft yet distinct edge, which helps deliver pleasant sensation precisely where you want it.

Flip it over to use the rounded side, which delivers broader vibrations

Amo’s soft contoured edge, however, is my favourite! Gently pressing it around the vulva makes for a great and precise massage that no dome-headed wand could provide.

I tested out Amo for solo use. But, Hot Octopuss says it’s also designed to sit between the legs during penetrative sex to stimulate the clitoris.

Ease of use

As someone with decent vision who hates reading instructions, I appreciated how Amo’s instructions were given in a series of as simple to understand visuals.

However, as someone with weak hand strength, the on/off button presented a bit of a challenge for me at first. (This is not an uncommon issue I encounter with sex toys, by the way.)

Located near the base of the bullet vibe, the on/off button must be pressed for at least two seconds to power it on or off. Quicker presses of the button will cycle you through Amo’s five vibration patterns. The quick presses were much easier for me to do.

On the opposite side of Amo are the plus and minus buttons that control the intensity of the vibrations. Amo was responsive to my quick presses and required less strength than turning on/off the device.

Made from ABS plastic and silicone, Amo weighs 43 grams, which is less than half the weight of a standard deck of cards.

It can for up to 40 minutes and takes between two and three hours to charge.

My final thoughts

Like I said above, I’m impressed with this vibrator’s design. It truly acted like a personal massager in targeting tight areas and soothing my pelvic pain.

From a simple pleasure standpoint, Amo delivered. The silicone end also warmed up nicely after a few minutes of use.

I think most people who like external sex toys and bullet vibes would enjoy Amo. If you are in the market for a high-quality bullet vibrator, the US$49 could very well be worth it.

If you have gripping issues, on the other hand, you may prefer the wearable DiGiT finger vibrator from Hot Octopuss.

It’s similar in design to Amo, but with a more rounded tip and ring-like curves that slip over two fingers. Designed to look and feel like jewelry, it is also 15 grams heavier than Amo and costs US$10 more at US$59.

Note, that I have not tested DiGiT, so I can’t vouch for it personally. And I’m sold on Amo’s precision tip!

Thanks for reading my review of Amo! If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know in the comments section below.
